Join us on an unforgettable African odyssey through the heart of Ethiopia — a land where ancient traditions, dramatic landscapes, and deep spirituality come together in extraordinary ways. Experience the warmth of Ethiopia, famously known as the country with “13 months of sunshine,” thanks to its unique calendar system with thirteen months in a year.

Our journey begins in the vibrant capital of Addis Ababa, where modern energy blends seamlessly with centuries of history and culture. From there, we fly north to the sacred town of Lalibela, often called the “New Jerusalem” of Africa. Hidden among the highlands are the world-renowned rock-hewn churches — extraordinary monolithic structures carved entirely out of volcanic rock over 900 years ago. Still active places of worship today, Lalibela offers a rare opportunity to witness living spiritual traditions, ancient rituals, and remarkable architectural genius.

With a special highlight: attending the vibrant celebration at the Church of Saint George (Bete Giyorgis). In the early morning, we join thousands of Ethiopian Orthodox pilgrims gathered in candlelight and prayer for the sacred celebration. Dressed in traditional white, worshippers fill the courtyard with ancient chants, incense, and rhythmic prayers — creating a powerful and unforgettable spiritual atmosphere.

After exploring Ethiopia’s spiritual north, we journey south into the legendary Omo Valley — one of Africa’s most culturally diverse regions and home to some of the continent’s most fascinating tribal communities. Here, traditions passed down through generations continue to shape everyday life.We met the Dorze, renowned for their towering bamboo homes and intricate weaving; the Mursi, known for their bold body adornments and iconic lip plates; the Nyangatom, Karo, and Arbore, each with distinct customs, dress, and rituals; and the Hamar, celebrated for their dynamic bull-jumping ceremonies, along with the Konso, whose terraced landscapes and ancestral totems reflect centuries of ingenuity. Each encounter was a vivid, unforgettable insight into Ethiopia’s living heritage. We also encounter the world-famous Mursi tribe, internationally recognized for the striking lip and ear plates traditionally worn by women — one of Africa’s most iconic and visually powerful cultural practices, symbolizing beauty, identity, and social status within the community.
